Scheduling work across teams means understanding how much work you have now and in the future and who's responsible at each stage. With Cyver Core's planning and availability features, you can assign work to pentesters and teams, see work allocation and availability across teams, and allow clients to schedule requests based on your availability.
That gives you a dashboard view of who is working and when, so you can manage and better allocate workloads across individuals and teams.
You also get insight into busy and slow periods for your pentest firm, so you can better align incoming work with your calendar.
You can see planning in the pentest project overview, in planning, and in user availability overviews.
Edit Planning Settings
Planning Settings control company-wide workdays, holidays, and standards. This allows you to set global defaults across the platform, which you can then tailor as-needed with individual project and user availability.
From the Cyver Portal, click Settings
Go to Planning Settings
Set Company Work Days
Set default company work days to automatically define how many days per week you work and which days you're available.
1. Click Edit under Company Work Days
2. Select or De-select work days as relevant
3. Hit Save
Set Company Holidays
Company holidays are used to set default periods where your entire company is unavailable. You can use these for holidays, local national holidays, bank holidays, or periods where you're busy with internal work and are not available for client-facing work.
From the Planning Settings Menu:
1. Click +New Holiday under Manage Holidays and Days Off in Your Company
2. Name the Holiday, set Start/End Dates, and decide if this holiday repeats each year.
5. Click Save
You can always edit and delete this holiday at a later point. Your availability will be listed as "Unavailable" during scheduled holidays and pentests will not be scheduled for those days.
Set Defaults Per Project Status
Cyver automatically schedules pentests and projects and puts them into your calendar using your assigned defaults. You can work with assigned defaults or update time required on a per-project basis from the Planning dashboard.
To assign defaults, from the Planning Settings Menu:
1. Click Edit under Project planning default days per status
2. Select which Project Status settings you'd like to be considered for availability for your team. E.g., Testing and Reporting are checked as a standard, because they normally require pentester time. Onboarding and Remediation are not, but that might change depending on your organization.
3. Set number of days normally required for each stage of the Project. E.g., if you take 14 days to test, set testing at 14 days.
4. Don't forget to save!
Update Planning Per Project
You can manually change planning or default timelines for any pentest project either in the Planning dashboard or in the Pentest dashboard.
Update Planning Per Pentest Project
1. Click Pentests from the menu
2. Select the Pentest you'd like to edit
3. Go to the Planning Menu
4. Adjust dates for each phase as desired. You can drag and drop.
5. Click Edit
6. Manually edit start/end dates for each project phase and status.
7. Click Save
From the planning portal, you can see when pentests are scheduled, assigned pentests per pentester, and availability per pentester.
You can also activate planning on Client Request Forms to allow clients to automatically schedule requested pentests based on team and pentester availability.
