If you're testing for the same client over a longer period, reoccurrences are inevitable. With Cyver Core, you can easily register and track those reoccurrences, giving your client insight into their security profile over time. Plus, when you use reoccurrences, you can directly copy all relevant information from the finding and automatically keep your old notes, remediation advice, and other data.
Cyver Core uses an algorithm to detect and match reoccurrences by matching Title, Severity, and Assets from the Finding. When all three match, the algorithm automatically lists your finding as a reoccurrence, so you can re-use the old ticket and data.
You can label reoccurrences using auto-detect by clicking the magic wand during finding import. Alternatively, you can register a reoccurrence directly from the finding editor.
Tip! Do you want to add a similar finding with different Title, Severity, or Assets? Use the Clone Findings feature to duplicate a finding instead!
How to Register a Reoccurrence on a Finding
You can register a reoccurrence on any finding. Start by navigating to the project containing the relevant finding:
1. Select the finding you'd like to edit
2. Click Edit on the finding description
3. Edit Occurrence to Reoccurrence
4. Choose which finding this is a reoccurrence of
5. Save your changes!
If you'd like to open a new ticket for the reoccurrence, you can clone the finding first.
How to Mark Findings as Reoccurrences During Finding Import
In most cases, you'll want to automatically mark reoccurrences as such during the finding import process. Cyver can do that automatically. Here, you'll want to adjust settings during the Finding Import Process:
1. Import Findings
2. Choose your File Import
3. Set Import Options and choose "Automatically Match Reoccurrence with previous findings"
4. Import your finding as normal. They will show up as reoccurrences of findings for the same client, with the same Title, Severity, and Assets
Once imported, you can see reoccurrences using the Findings Filter or under the project by going to Insights and then to Reoccurrences.
