Once a project has been created using a Workflow Template, you can manage and adjust workflow tasks directly from the Project View.
This includes:
Editing workflow tasks
Adding new workflow tasks
Resetting workflow steps
These actions allow operational flexibility without modifying the original Workflow Template.
Editing Workflow Tasks from the Project View
You may need to make adjustments to reflect operational changes or correct assignments.
To edit a workflow task:
Ensure "Allow users to modify project tasks" is enabled in the Workflow Template.
In the Project view, click the three dots next to Pentest Workflow.
Select Manage workflow tasks.
Click the Workflow Task you want to edit.
Update the Assignee if needed.
Modify the Due Date if required.
Save your changes.
Adding Workflow Tasks from the Project View
To create a new task directly in a project:
Ensure "Allow users to modify project tasks" is enabled.
In the Project view, click the three dots next to Pentest Workflow.
Select Manage workflow tasks.
Click + Create workflow task.
Fill in the task details.
Task Name
Task Description
Role (Client or Pentester)
Assign to a specific user
Set Due Date
Set Client Visibility
Click Save.
Reset Workflow Steps
The Reset Workflow Steps option allows you to reinitialize the workflow of an existing project.
This action re-applies the workflow configuration based on the original Workflow Template linked to the project.
What Happens When You Reset Workflow Steps?
When triggered, the system will:
Re-assign all workflow tasks according to the role assignments defined in the Workflow Template
Recalculate all task due dates based on the template’s deadline settings
Reset all workflow task statuses to their initial state
In other words, the project’s workflow is returned to its starting structure as defined by the template.
When Should You Use This Option?
Reset workflow steps can be useful in scenarios such as:
Restoring task assignments according to template defaults
Recalculating due dates
Correcting unintended workflow progress
Restarting workflow execution when necessary
Important Note
Resetting workflow steps will overwrite task-level progress, including completed statuses, manual assignment changes, and due date adjustments.
This action cannot be undone. Please ensure it is used intentionally.
Managing Workflow Task Statuses
Workflow tasks support individual tracking statuses, independent of the overall project status. This allows assignees to accurately reflect their current progress. When editing a workflow task, you can set its status to:
To Do (Default)
In Progress
Skipped
Completed
Note: A task's status will also automatically change to "Completed" if a user manually marks it as completed or stops the time tracker for that activity.
Viewing All Workflow Tasks (Full View)
As a manager, you can view all planning tasks for a pentest in a single, consolidated view to easily track workloads and timelines.
In the Project view, click the three dots next to Pentest Workflow.
Select View All Tasks.
This opens the "Pentest Workflow All Tasks" modal, displaying a comprehensive grid of all tasks grouped by status, including the Assignee, Task Status, Due Date, Completed By, and Completed At information.
