To ensure easy tracking and clear communication, Cyver Core assigns a unique, sequential code (e.g., F-2026-0026, F-2026-0027) to every new finding you create or import. This guarantees that every vulnerability has a distinct, traceable reference number across your entire workspace.
How Auto-Generation Works
By default, the system handles this auto-incrementing sequence for you. When the Auto-generate Code for new findings setting is enabled, Cyver Core strictly enforces the sequence to prevent human error. As a result, the "Code" input field is hidden when you click + New Finding, preventing any manual overrides.
Customizing Your Sequence
If you need to change the starting number, allow duplicate codes, or manually type your own finding codes, you can customize these rules.
(Note: To access these settings, you must be on the Professional Plan or have the Advanced Findings Management Add-on activated. Starter plan users will have their sequences automatically managed by the system).
You can adjust your sequence rules at any time:
Navigate to Settings > Finding Fields from the left-hand menu.
Click on the Other Settings tab.
On the Finding Codes section, click Edit settings.
From the pop-up modal, you can customize:
Code sequence number: Change the numeric value to jump to a specific starting sequence (e.g., starting your codes from 1000 instead of 27).
Allow duplicate codes: Choose whether the system should strictly block or permit identical codes.
Auto-generate Code for new findings: If you toggle this OFF, the "Code" field will reappear in the New Finding modal, allowing you to manually type codes.
Click Save.
