Getting Started with the Rich text (collaboration) editor – Cyver Support

Overview

The Rich text (collaboration) editor introduces a completely different editing experience compared to the legacy editor.

Unlike the legacy editor, which is based on Markdown, the Rich text (collaboration) editor is a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor. This means that content is displayed while editing much closer to how it will appear in the final report.

How to Enable the Rich text (collaboration) editor

The new Report Editor can be activated on a per-project basis.

Step 1: Create a New Project

Step 2: Open Project Settings

Navigate to:

Project Settings → Report

Step 3: Change the Report Editor

Locate the Report Editor field.

By default, this field is set to:

Markdown

Change the value to:

Rich text (collaboration)

Save the project settings.

How to Access the Rich text (collaboration) editor

Once the Report Editor has been set to Rich text (collaboration), you can open the new editor by generating the draft report.

After the draft report is generated, the report will open in the new Report Editor interface.

The first part contains the
- context menu next to the report version
- online collaborators
- fullscreen mode button
- comments bar
- toolbar actions

The editor toolbar provides formatting and content insertion tools, including:

Text formatting (headings, bold, italic, underline, strikethrough)
Text styling (highlight and color)
Quotes and code formatting
Links and comments
Images, tables, and horizontal separators
Text alignment
Numbered and bulleted lists
AI Copilot assistance
Report Tokens insertion
Refresh tokens

Working with Tokens

The Rich text (collaboration) editor introduces a more interactive way of working with report tokens.

When a token is inserted into the report, its output is displayed directly in the editor and highlighted with a dashed border. Clicking on the token output reveals several actions that can be performed without leaving the editor.

Available actions include:

Edit Token (✏️)
Opens the Token Editor directly, allowing you to modify the token configuration and settings without navigating away from the report.
Refresh Token Output (🔄)
Updates the output of the selected token only. This allows you to refresh the token content without regenerating or refreshing the entire report.
Delete Token (🗑️)
Removes the token from the report.

This new workflow makes it easier to manage and adjust report content directly within the editor while immediately seeing the impact of your changes.

Text Selection Actions

The new Report Editor also provides contextual actions when selecting text within the report while in the Editor.

Simply highlight the desired text to reveal additional options:

Add Comment (💬)
Create a comment attached to the selected text. This is useful for collaboration, reviews, and requesting feedback from team members without modifying the report content itself.
AI Copilot (🤖)
Use AI-assisted actions on the selected text. Depending on the context, Copilot can help rewrite, improve, expand, summarize, or otherwise refine the selected content.

These contextual actions allow users to review and improve report content directly within the editor, making collaboration and content refinement significantly faster.

Formatting Tables for PDF Report

If you are using custom CSS for your PDF report, you will need to update your table styling rules to support the new editor.

The legacy Markdown editor targets table headers using the .report_pdf th rule. However, the new Rich text (collaboration) editor uses .report_pdf .report-table-header.

To ensure your table styles render identically in the final PDF export regardless of which editor is used for the project, combine both selectors in your CSS like this:

Additionally, the new Rich text (collaboration) editor wraps cell content in paragraph tags, which adds extra vertical spacing to your rows due to default margins. To remove these extra margins and keep your row heights consistent with the legacy editor, you should add the following CSS rules:
