A Sandbox tenant allows your team to test new configurations, train new employees, and safely experiment with platform features without affecting your live production environment.
When your sandbox is initially created, it starts with default system settings. To make testing as realistic as possible, Owners and Managers can easily import their custom configurations directly from their primary (main) tenant into the sandbox.
Follow this guide to learn how to access your Sandbox settings, import your configurations, and reset your environment when testing is complete.
1. Requesting and Accessing Your Sandbox
Sandbox environments are strictly separated from your main production portal.
Request a Sandbox: Contact the Cyver Support team to request a sandbox environment. Our team will manually create a new tenant specifically linked to your main account.
Log In: Once created, Cyver will invite a designated manager from your team. You must activate this account and log in to the specific Sandbox URL provided to you.
2. Navigating to Sandbox Settings
The data import feature is exclusive to sandbox environments and will not appear in your main production tenant.
Log in to your Sandbox tenant.
In the left-hand menu, navigate to Administration > Portal.
At the top of the settings page, click on the Sandbox Data tab. (Note: This tab is only visible in tenants configured with the Sandbox usage type).
3. Importing Data from the Main Tenant
Importing data allows you to pull your customized templates and methodologies from your live environment into the sandbox.
Under the Import Data section, click the Import Data button.
An Import Data modal will appear, displaying the URL of your linked main portal.
Select the checkboxes for the specific information you want to import. By default, all available categories are checked.
Click Save to execute the import.
What gets imported?
To protect your sensitive information, the import feature pulls general settings only. It strictly excludes all live operational data, meaning no Client data and no Project/Findings data will be transferred to the sandbox.
Depending on your subscription plan, the available categories in the import modal include:
Pentest Templates
Checklists
Benchmarks
Compliance Norms
Report Templates
Section Libraries
Text Blocks
Finding Fields Templates
Finding Statuses
Vulnerability Type(s)
Workflow Templates
Quote Templates
Finding Libraries
Labels
Client Portal Settings Templates
Request Forms
Request Form Groups
GenAI Copilot Settings
Dashboard Templates
Planning Settings (Note: Employee holidays are excluded)
4. Resetting Your Sandbox Data
If you have finished testing a specific workflow or want to start fresh with a clean slate, you can easily wipe the imported configurations and restore the defaults.
Navigate back to Administration > Portal > Sandbox Data.
Under the Reset Data section, click the Reset Data button.
A Reset Data modal will appear with a list of categories.
Select the checkboxes for the specific information categories you want to reset.
Click Save to execute the reset.
