When importing a new file containing findings, you can automatically merge them with existing finding templates in your library. This helps prevent duplicates and keeps your library clean and well-organized. The merge process is based on the title of the finding, which you can configure in your templates.
Setting Up Titles for Auto-Merge
To enable accurate merging, ensure your finding templates include a matching title. Here’s how to configure this:
1. Go to Settings in the left-hand menu.
2. Select Finding Libraries
3. Select the library that you want
4. Select Finding Templates
5. Select the finding that you want
6. Click on the Edit button
7. When the pop-up opens, go to the Settings tab, and use the Match option to choose between Exact Text for precise matches or Regex for pattern-based matching.
- If you select Exact Text, type the title that you want to be found for the merge.
Ex: Title on burp file
- If you select Regex, type the regular expression pattern that you want to be found for the merge.

For each matched field, you will have three options to control how the data from the finding template is incorporated into the imported finding:
- Override: The value from the finding template will replace any existing value in that field for the imported finding.
- Append: The value from the finding template will be added to the end of the existing value in that field for the imported finding.
- Skip: The value in the imported finding for that field will remain as it is.
12. Wait while the program searches for existing findings in the selected library to match and merge.
13. Select the Findings that you want to import.
14. Confirm & Import.
15. The imported findings, now enhanced with merged data from your library templates, will be added to your current pentest.
